Questions and answers about The Way: A Salford and Manchester church plant

Here are some of the questions we are regularly asked

Is The Way a church operating in both Manchester and Salford?

Yes! We are a church in Manchester and a church in Salford - serving local communities in both cities.

Could I start a community as part of The Way?

Yes! We would love to meet you, hear your story, and find out about what God has called you to. Our communities are based around a local area or a specific ministry calling.

I am a student. Could I start a community at my university as part of The Way?

Yes absolutely! We would love to meet you and talk about how we can support you to start and run a community where you are.

Would you support us to start a church like the Way elsewhere?

Yes! Supporting church planting is very much part of who we are. We would love to hear from you wherever you live.

Does The Way meet on a specific day of the week?

No! Our church is made up of multiple communities which meet at times that suit them throughout the week.

Do the communities in The Way ever meet altogether?

Yes, the communities meet together to catch up, to hear all the stories of what God has been doing amongst us, to celebrate Him, and pray together. The day and time may vary.

What are the biblical foundations of The Way?

Check out our biblical foundations on the 'Our Foundations' page and read the "The model of the early church" paper.

What does the process of making disciples look like in The Way?

Making disciples begins with engaging with people, listening to them, serving them, and loving them. Draw them into community around you as you demonstrate and communicate the love of God. As people respond to Jesus start communities of believers who are committed to make disciples, and to be disciples - loving, serving, admonishing, encouraging, supporting, bearing with one another.

Why does The Way not ask for money or have a giving section on its website?

We don't believe that money is central to church life. Whereas most churches spend > 85% of their income on staff and buildings, The Way spends > 85% of member's gifts on reaching out to people with the message of Jesus, and meeting the needs of local communities - in particular the poor, marginalised and vulnerable.

Is The Way a Disciple Making Movement (DMM)?

Yes... and not yet. The Way is a disciple making church with the goal to initiate and/or support other disciple making churches.

Can I get involved in The Way if I don't consider myself a Jesus follower?

Yes! We would love for you to get involved in any area of community life. Check out the 'Get Involved' page.

I'm not involved in church currently. Could I get a taste of what life in The Way is like?

Yes of course! If you live in greater Manchester, then get in touch and we can chat about how that can happen. You can join in with a community and/or serve at one of our volunteer activities.

How do you recommend we get involved with our local community?

This should be on both an individual and group level. There will be many services run by volunteers in your area which you can join with, or you can initiate your own. This can be something very simple. There are too many possibilities to list here but we would be happy to exchange ideas and our experience with you if you get in touch.
